Understanding the Workflow

If you have not already, add the Turn Podcasts into Blog Posts Lindy here to your account.

The workflow consists of four steps:

Chat Message Received trigger
YouTube Transcribe Video action
Chat Send Message action
AI Agent action (for revising and editing the blog post)

Let's break down each step:

Chat Message Received

This trigger allows the workflow to be initiated by sending Lindy a message from the Lindy Task View. You do not need to configure this trigger.

YouTube Video Transcription

Once Lindy receives a message containing a YouTube podcast URL, she will move to the YouTube Transcribe Video step.

The YouTube Transcribe Video step enables Lindy to take a YouTube URL and output the captions and title of the video.

Click on this action to see its configuration:

The "Url or Video Id" field is set to "Auto" mode by default, which means Lindy will use intelligence to infer which URL to use for the field.

Chat Send Message

After transcribing the video, Lindy will draft an initial blog post and send it to you in the Lindy's task view chat.

Click on the Chat Send Message action to customize the prompt used for the initial blog post draft.

The default prompt is:

Your task is to craft a comprehensive blog post using the YouTube podcast transcript provided.

Use the examples below as a guide for structure, tone, and depth of content:

Make sure your blog post is insightful, engaging, and tailored to your audience, while providing key takeaways from the podcast transcript.

As always, we recommend you refer to our Prompt Guide and make sure to add your own blog post examples in the prompt to help refine Lindy’s writing skills to match your preferences.

The AI Agent

You can request changes to the initial blog post draft in the Lindy task view. Feedback requests will move Lindy into the AI Agent step to revise and edit the blog post.

AI Agents are best used when you're highly unsure of what should happen next. They let you define broad guidelines and skills that can be invoked at any time — the agent will then decide when to use which skills to follow its guidelines.

Because we do not know how many revisions the blog post will need, we are going to let the AI Agent revise and iterate until we’re satisfied with the final copy.

Click on the AI Agent step to see the prompt Lindy will use to revise and update the blog post.

The default prompt is:

Edit and revise the content based on the user's request. Once the user is satisfied with the revisions, send them the final copy in full.

You can change this prompt and add helpful hints for the agent to use when updating your blog post. Adding a section for “things to ensure you look out for when editing the draft” may look like this:

1. Always use first person
2. Ensure the post is written for a Harvard-educated audience
3. Use sophisticated language and avoid redundancy
4. Use direct quotes from the podcast transcript

Let's See How It Works

In the task view, send Lindy a URL of a YouTube podcast episode you want to turn into a blog post.

Lindy will transcribe the video, draft a blog post, and send it to you in the chat.

Review the draft and provide your feedback. For example:

"Can you expand on the section about [specific topic]?"
"Please add more details about the guest's background."
"Rewrite the conclusion to emphasize [particular point]."

Lindy will revise the blog post based on your feedback and send you an updated version. This process continues until you're completely satisfied with the result.
